Overall, the Dell EFP is a great monitor to consider, either new or used mine was used. Does not take up too much space and allows for easy multi tasking. The controls for adjusting the monitor are easily visible silver push buttons set on the front of the casing, below the screen , and easy to access, although you can get confused trying to maneuver through the setting options. Besides, the thin-bezel design of the Dell EFP monitor has been specifically made for places where space is at a premium. I think this is what impresses me the most about the monitors:

177fp look like what they are: Posted on Apr 27, The older E has been running for nearly 2 years without a problem. Power button fades from green to amber like before. Dell EFP monitor won't turn off in power saving Does not take up too much space and allows for easy multi tasking. Recently networking applied power managment options to power of the monitors in 20 mins of inactivity. I specifically sought out the E because the E is such an excellent monitor.

I have the Dell EFP and have been having this problem. Tell us some more!

I don't watch many movies but after testing it on a few DVDs, i found the E to have much better picture quality than the inch flat panel that it replaced. There are no speakers attached to the monitor. I take it the two monitors are just different versions of the same, as they are nearly identical to each other delll only difference is that the E is black, while the E is just a little grayer maybe because it is older.

One word of caution: Dell UltraSharp 49 is a big monitor matched by a big price. I also planned to use a DELL attached sound bar which does attach easily however this monitor does not have a power plug to power the soundbar If you want a nice monitor with no frills then it is ok as an entry level monitor.
